What do you see when you look at this picture? A shirt? A powder blue blouse? I see the reason a great work family is irreplaceable.
I came across this top on instagram that I immediately HAD to have. I found it online, added it to my cart, and started browsing for something else I just couldn?t live without so I?d qualify for free shipping. But, in true #momlife fashion, I ended up having to postpone my shopping and then forgot. When I crawled into bed that night, it dawned on me that I hadn?t checked out. I thought, this is perfect, now I can browse uninterrupted and snag my must have top?.but it was SOLD OUT! Of course it was. Lol So I checked my local stores to see if I could buy it in person. Sold out. I checked the stores around my mom. Sold out. Sister-in-law? Aunts? Cousins? Sold out. At this point I?m starting to get upset thinking I?ve missed out. But then I remember that I know people all over the country! I start thinking about which of our sales agents is the least likely to mock me forever, but the most likely to be willing to do me this favor. Decided Kelly would do it. He?d mock me a little, but that?s a small price to pay. Checked stock in Cedar Rapids. Sold out. Who else? Justin! Checked stock in Orlando. Sold out. O wait! He lives in St. Pete now. Checked stock. THEY HAVE IT! I almost text him at 1 am his time because I was so excited, but I managed to restrain myself. The next morning I called him to ask for this rather unorthodox work favor. And as I knew he would, he chuckled, told me to send over the picture and size, and he?d run by that afternoon. Less than half an hour later, I get a text of him holding THE shirt! I squealed in excitement! Lol He then mailed this o so fabulous shirt to me in Oklahoma and made my month.
This is what a work FAMILY is all about. It?s the difference in having work acquaintances and having work partners. Not only did he do me a huge and slightly awkward favor, but he was able to send me a shirt that I love and that boosts my confidence tremendously. I wouldn?t trade these guys for the world.
